Sunday Show and Tell

Here are some of yesterdays water drop paintings. The first three are completed, and the last two pictures are about halfway there. Some chose to paint succulents while others picked strawberry leaves from the garden. These really blow me away. The first three were done by my youngest students ages 9-10 years old. Aren't they great?!

After Class Crash!

The animals and I decided to take a little nap after class today. Max found a very precarious spot in a wire basket, while Eddie and I chose the hammock. The rest of my farm napped under and around us. It was a nice way to spend the afternoon.

Here are some pictures of my last succulent painting from the series of three I started a few weeks ago. Kind of looks like a rose, but so does the plant. The other is a sample water drop painting for class. I wanted to keep them as separate paintings in case I use one for a possible fabric print. I'll have to post the classes paintings tomorrow. My camera battery died out while trying to upload them on my computer. See you then. Karin

Retro Bombshell

That's not really her name, but like the last painting I did, I didn't know what to call her. She's a bit more groovey in a retro cartoony sort of way. Who knows, the names starting to grow on me.
I've been working on lots of different kinds of projects today (ceramics, painting, planting, and sewing to name a few) and will post some pictures for you next week as they get further along.
Tomorrow is my students painting class where we hope to get most of the succulents and other plant leaf paintings finished so we can add the water drops. Have a great weekend, Karin

Come on over!

My friend Tina and fellow blogger called me yesterday because she had been reading my blog and wanted to come visit the art studio for inspiration. She brought a couple delicious cupcakes that her husband had made from scratch. Here's the recipe. Every girls dream, a husband who bakes. So now that Tina has solidified her spot as one of my favorites, I was thinking...........who will be next? Hee Hee.

Spicy little thing she is

Not sure what to call this one. She looks a bit like my friend Susie, so I've been calling her Spicy Susie. But really, if anyone out there has a better name I'm open to it. Maybe I should have a "Name that Painting Contest"?

I'm Speechless!

Etsy artist BrianaEdelmanDesigns sent me a shop link today of these adorable purses she made from my chickadee fabric. Something I think is even cooler is that she uses a layer of batting made from recycled bottles, each bag saves about one bottle from being wasted.
Briana is an east coast designer specializing in jewelry and handbags. She has a passion for simple designs and details that can go with anything you wear or do, day or night.
I am so happy she chose to use some of my custom fabric designs.

The elephants are done!

We were able to finished the elephant mural tonight in class. I think it turned out pretty great. Carol and Francesca did a fabulous job on their elephants and Carol plans on hanging it in her coffee shop for the month of July.
The rest of this evening was spent working on my red succulent painting and finishing one of my girl paintings. I don't have a name for her yet, but I love how she turned out. I'll post some pictures tomorrow. Karin
