Merry Christmas!

A quick mid-day post in between Christmas festivities. It's been a busy couple of weeks around here and I just don't have the energy to write a full story about each event so here goes......

-one of the many little trees in my house.
-made some stockings from fabric and coffee bags
-painted a nursery for my sister (expecting soon so stay tuned for another shower post)
-made lots of soup
-went paddle boarding with friends on Christmas Eve. (a perfectly sunny day)
-(not pictured) I finished my banner for this years Arts Alive street banner project. (More on that soon too)

.....and now I'm off to my other sister's house for more cheer and fun with adorable nephews.

Deck the halls!

My house has turned into a Christmas candyland. Should I put the big tree up this year? It feels festive enough.. no?

This years Artist Market was a huge success. Actually, I've never been disappointed with any of the past ones, but this year was beyond amazing. A literal sea of people swarmed my show and it was great catching up with all the locals and friends.
I have yet to rest from it. There's just too much to do. Shipping orders, stocking Barrels and Branches and hanging more art at the Pannikin. Oh, and I almost forgot, this years street banner is due Jan. 3rd!!! sh#t, I'm not even close to finishing. This weekend will be my time to paint all night while listening to christmas music...and drinking plenty of wine to keep my spirits high. Pictures to come soon. sneak peek--Artist Market is just around the corner!

I can't believe the Artists Market/Open Studio is next Sunday! Everything seems to be coming together so I'm not feeling too stressed. Maybe it will catch up with me the days before, but for now I'm on cruise control.
My studio is packed and I still have more to squeeze in there! There will be something for everyone this year and cross your fingers...I think the weather will be perfect.

Thanksgiving

This year my friend Shannon and I brought our families together to celebrate Thanksgiving. (about 15 for dinner, and another 7 came for the after party)
Since she was housesitting on the bluff, the owners (which are also good friends) offered their house up for the festivities. Here is a view from their deck. Isn't it dreamy?
Shannon....I know you don't read my blog so you'll never see this photo I posted of you. Whaaaahaahaa! (It was super bright out and we didn't have hats, so we stuck food baskets on our heads.

I managed to get only two pictures of the appetizers and the trifle I made for dessert. In case you're wondering... it's layered with brownies, vanilla pudding, fresh berries, and whipped cream. So goooood.

Check back tomorrow for some pre-artist market pictures. It's been a long week but I feel like I'm ahead of schedule (I think?).

Artists Market and Open Studio

I've received some emails asking if I'm going to have my sale this year. So glad that others are excited about it as much as I am, but also so stressful. The pressure is on to make this as special as the previous ones...and actually, I think it's going to be the best one yet.
The next few weeks will be spent decorating and pulling out all the vintage goodness I've collected this past year. I also have many new paintings to share as well as some new felted pin cushions and plantings in vintage vessels.
My fellow friends and artists joining this year will have tables chocked full of their own creations. There will be candles, art, hand sewn lovelies, pottery, and more vintage. (you can never have enough vintage!)

I promise to keep you posted with sneak peeks as time grows near, but until then.....mark your calendars!

Prints available at M.O.M.

Right now and through the holidays you can find my prints over at M.O.M.'s shop in downtown Encinitas. Owners Bethany and Tere carry a variety of handmade cool stuff from clothes to home accessories. So if you're looking for a one-of-a-kind gift this year, it's definitely worth stopping in for a peek.

Before and After--Ugly Card Table

My friend was clearing out his moms art studio and gave me this old vintage card table. I liked it because of the metal ribbing around the side.....reminds me of a galvanized trash can. The top was pretty badly stained so I recovered it with fabric and a thick clear plastic over that to protect it even more. Oh yeah, I painted the metal a dark gray too.
I know I won't be embarrassed to lug this table around to my next show.
