If you look closely, you'll see our little Ruby perched on top of the arbor of morning glory. This has been her favorite place to hang out the last few days. We thought she was up there looking for bugs, but realized that she was actually laying eggs! Art found two eggs up there today. Crazy girl!
Since we adopted the last three chickens, they have all decided to lay eggs in various places around the yard. It's like going on an Easter egg hunt every day.
That's very cute. It makes me miss my girls terribly! I have none left now. :(
ReplyDeleteYour grass is so vibrantly green!
ReplyDeleteThat's sweet that she has found such an unlikely place to lay her eggs. Being the city girl that I am, I had no idea hens could fly that high! I thought they would lift off for a foot or two and then have to do another run and jump!
Uh oh, you're going to have scrambled eggs if some fall from her high perch! Quick, get the skillet.
ReplyDeleteWhat funny chickens!
So sweet!!
ReplyDeleteHow adorable, Karin! Lucky you to have such cute chickens..... Ruby is quite the smart bird....she is probably just looking for a way to keep them safe..... :)
ReplyDeleteWe are planning on getting chickens this spring. Should we start with chicks or full chickens? can you recommend a good book that is helpful on how to best keep chickens in a yard (as opposed to a farm?) Thanks!!
