Sneak Peek

As you can see, the studio is filling up fast! There's just so much to do before Sunday. (makes my head spin) I think I need to start making daily lists. Then maybe I'll be able to sleep through the night.
Hope to see you at the market. Karin

Special Sale for You!

I love that Etsy has coupon codes for sellers to customize and use in their shop so I thought I'd give it a try. Starting now, my blog readers can receive 15% off their purchase in my shop on anything when they type (Special4You) during checkout. Happy Holidays!

On another note, I've been working day and night getting ready for Sundays Artist Market. Tracking my hours by how many coffee cups and wine glasses I have accumulated on my desk. I'll post some sneak peeks tomorrow. Karin

Had to share....

I just got word that my friend Nicole has officially launched her new company Lusso Bags. She and her mom have created a business that makes traveling a little nicer and helps support and empower women abroad in gaining access to education and suitable working environments.
They not only support women internationally, but their hand sewn shoe bags are also made here with care by a seasoned seamstress. It's so nice to see a company that is more concerned with the well being of others than the ugly world of mass production.

Above is one of the three designs I had the pleasure of designing for them and is available now. Mrs. Bird....I have to say, you are looking so cute in turquoise.

So I don't know about you, but I can't stand the idea of my shoes and clothes touching each other in my suitcase. This virgo is all for little luxuries like these.

Chaos!

Getting ready for the upcoming Artist Market means redoing the studio. What a mess huh?
Once I finish playing musical furniture, I will decorate like there's no tomorrow.
Can't wait to give you a peek.

Annual Artist Market!

I can't believe it's almost here and I have so much to do. The studio will be shut down the week before in preparation for the event.
This is such a fun day filled with artists treasures, vintage finds and of course we will all be happily caffeinated thanks to the Pannikin. Mark your calendars now and we'll see you soon. Karin

Today......

With the help of my incredibly funny and helpful little nephew, I was able to get the rest of the student art show up at the Pannikin. He thought the painting should be at kid level so they can see them too. How cute is he?

And speaking of the Pannikin, I'm excited to be part of their first "Not so Black Friday event" ....the day after Thanksgiving of course. Hope to see you there. Karin

Ceramics!

These babies came out of my neighbors kiln a few days ago. I was mixing all the glaze colors and really didn't know how they would look in the end, but I'm LOVING them!
Honestly, I don't know how people make a living doing ceramics? It takes so much time and doesn't always work out. Maybe they're just faster than I? I think I'll keep it as a fun hobby. (......like I need more hobbies right?)
I can't wait to hang the whale over the doorway of my new "Candle Shack" shed. For now he looks good propped up in the house.
Art's loving his tribal tiki planter too.

computer update- It's been a good night...I was able to list several new paintings in the shop! Yeah!

Shop update

I'm trying really hard to add some new prints and paintings to the ole' shop but my computer's been sooooooo slow lately. It literally takes an hour to send an email. This is seriously testing my patience. I've earned... maybe a D-/ and an E for effort.

Zuri...can you hear me? I need your help! Whaaaaa.....

It's been crazy I tell you

I know it's been awhile since I posted, so I thought I'd pop in and give you a little peek into my world these past few days.

It's been a whirlwind of activity over here. I hosted a concrete planter making class on Saturday and Sunday, taught an art class, finished some paintings for the shop, hung most of the students art show at the Pannikin, revamped some vintage furniture, and I'm frantically trying to get ready for my upcoming shows.
All of these deserve a post of their own....and I will elaborate on them in the next week or two when I get my thoughts sorted and better pictures. Until then, this will have to do.

If you'd like to see some corners of my house, go check out "Fern and Feather." Alexis is an amazing photographer/ designer and has one of the best blogs in town.
Whenever I go by her house, I end up back home redoing my own.

Dia de los muertos

Today for Day of the Dead the Pannikin celebrated by decorating sugar skulls with frosting and colored foils. Here's my finished one. Isn't it rad........and kind of creepy?
