2011

It's that time of year again when we declare our New Years resolutions.
Well, sorry...but I don't have any this year.

Instead.......all I can think about is "I WANT A NEW KITCHEN!"
Something like this one would be amazing.

I also love the look of this reclaimed wood and have the perfect wall for this. Wouldn't it look great wrapped around a kitchen island too?

Com'on universe, what do ya say? Sort of a New Years House resolution?

Jealous?

Here's a toast to the beginning of my soup making efforts. This is the vegetable with quinoa soup that I got from my friend Alexis' blog. She wasn't kidding when she said to use your biggest pot. I ran out of room and had to omit the butternut squash. It made enough to feed four families! Next time I'll remember to make a half batch.
Serve this with some crusty bread, grilled chicken and of course a nice glass of wine. So....so good!

If you have a favorite soup recipe...please share. I just bought 2 cookbooks with a total of 570 different soups.
I hope the weather stays rainy and winter like so I'll be in the mood to make more.
Did I tell you I only cook 3-4 months out of the year? The rest of the time I (try) to leave it to Art and his grilling skills.

Also pictured are some pretty shots of Barrels and Branches. Don't you just love the way they decorate?

Class at Urban Barn!

I'm so excited to take the soldering class at Urban Barn with teacher Terri Brush.
Seriously, I can't tell you how long I've wanted to learn how to make my own charms. There are still a couple spots left if you want to join me. I'm registered in the "crown making" class.

Guest Blog

I'm so flattered that Bianca over at Bink and Boo asked if I'd participate in her "Five Favorite Finds" blog series. She's such a cool cat full of wit and crazy good taste.

Go check it out and say hello. Karin

To my Lovely Sisters

Who are you kidding? I know your M.O.

"Maybe if we leave our planters from the concrete class, Karin will plant them up all nice and pretty like." Class was Nov.6th!

I waited..............and waited..............till my brain couldn't take it anymore. Today I caved and planted them with cuttings I've been collecting. So, yeah....you're welcome ladies.

The season is almost over as far as the online world is concerned. Now I can sleep in, deck the halls and count the days before Christmas. Art's happy because it means I'll start cooking more. I just bought 2 cookbooks with a total of 575 soup recipes. My Christmas shopping is done and I'm ready.......are you?

A perfect Day!

I couldn't have asked for a better day for the Artist Market. The weather was perfect and it was so great to see a lot of familiar faces and catch up with old friends.
(The only bummer was that I drank too much coffee throughout the day and hardly slept a wink last night.)

A big THANK YOU to my sisters for all their help and friends that joined us with their handmade treasures. I wouldn't be able to do it without you guys.

To show our appreciation to you all, my sister and I are putting together a sweet little giveaway which I will post tomorrow. So come back and check it out. Who knows.....you could be the lucky winner!

---Just listed in my shop--
Adorable felted pincushions and a collection of map paintings

Show update!

Looks like the weather should be perfect on Sunday. Yeah!

A few people have already stopped by...........no, I didn't let them take anything, but they do plan on arriving at noon sharp to grab up their goodies. So FYI, come before all the good stuff is gone.

A couple nights of felted cuteness

The last couple of evenings have been filled with christmas music, wine and needle felting madness. I've got another batch of owl baby ornaments done and these new little pin cushions which will be available at my show on Sunday and then in my Etsy shop. These little guys take forever to make but once you make one you just can't stop.

Next up......I need to make up some more jewelry and then I can relax and enjoy the show!
