Art and I started our day kayaking and paddle boarding with friends up in Carlsbad. Luckily, the sun decided to come out for a while too.
The rest of the day was spent gardening and getting ready for the evening festivities. My family decided to come over for an impromptu BBQ and smore-fest. I have to say, this was definitely my favorite 4th of July. Probably because I didn't plan a thing. Just let the day evolve on its own. Good practice for a control freak like myself.
