Patchwork Indie Arts and Crafts Festival

I am so glad I was able to participate in this show. It was an hour away, but so worth it. This was the first show I've been to where the people who came were just as interesting as the venders. It's so nice to be surrounded by hundreds of friendly and supportive artists. I wish I had more time to browse, but the fair was just too busy to take a break for too long. I could go on and on about the people I met, but the one that made the biggest impression was a guy with tattoos and large studded earrings who looked like Jesse James (Sandra Bullocks Husband). He was standing in front of my tent, eyeing my paintings for awhile. When I said hello, he replied all cool and confident, " Hey........ I just wanted to tell you....... your art doesn't suck". That was so classic and has since become my new favorite line.

I shared a booth with my friend Erica who was selling these cute little pincushions like hot cakes. Here's a picture of my favorite one. It was a great day, and we're looking forward to the one next fall.

  1. That compliment truly is a classic! It was probably high praise from him!

I wanted to go to this show, but family/friend obligations prevented it. I'll be keeping an eye on your upcoming shows, and I'll make it one some day!

  3. I love that you use oilcloth for your tables ~ I would be attracted to your stall instantly with all that combined color.
You must have exceeded the expectations of the guy who complimented you! Made me smile too :)
